We're Winning In Iraq

After Six years of being lied to the American people are still so gullible that they will still ignore all evidence to the contrary, and that is, Iraq is a mess. But what can you expect from a population so poorly educated that a reported 3 out of 5 Americans do not understand the theory of evolution.

Cross border incursions by Turkey in the north of Iraq have opened a new war front.

The Iraq and Afghan governments have been described as criminal enterprises, as the level of corruption dwarfs even our own.

Muqtada al-Sadr now disassociating himself from some of his followers who he says he can no longer control. This is his way of saying, Don't blame me for the continuing violence.

McCain say's we're winning, that the surge is working, when even our government and independent reports like those from the RAND corporation state clearly that not only is the war lost, but further attempts to stem the insurgency are fruitless.

What is the answer, well whatever the solutions are they will NOT come from a population that is misled and a government that is determined to lie to us. And you can also blame media consolidation and complicity in this morass of misinformation and lies. When 5 corporations own virtually all the media in this country and all them lined up for favors from the federal government, it is a small wonder that the 'official news' is nothing more than government spin.

It's not liberal, it's not conservative, it's lies pure and simple.
The truth is not a liberal or conservative thing, it is what it is, and we are routinely shielded from it at all costs. Like the war, global climate change, national debt, government corruption, election misdeeds, the cost of oil. the abuses of Enron and other corporations. The list goes on and on, why are we so misinformed and the bigger question, why aren't we more upset about it.
Why do people listen to Bill O'Reilly and Rush Limbaugh , when they are both admitted liars?
Why do some many Americans feel that it is ok if not preferable to get the news and opinions they WANT to hear instead of the truth?
